The Anova Hotel & Spa in Montgenevre, France, is a chic, modern hotel right on the ski slopes in the French Alps. During our visit, we found it to be incredibly inviting with stunning panoramic views of the snow-covered mountains.
This family-run hotel features 40 rooms and suites. The on-site restaurant serves a mix of Italian and traditional French dishes, while the cocktail lounge offers comfy seating, a fireplace, and live music most evenings. A jazz trio was performing when we were there. For après-ski relaxation, the hotel has a large deck with mountain views.
The hotel’s spa is a highlight, with an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam bath, and sauna (available for a small fee). The spa offers a range of treatments using Anne Semonin products from Paris.
On the lower level, there’s a ski shop where guests can rent or purchase equipment. The front desk also sells lift tickets, so you can easily get everything you need to start skiing as soon as you arrive.
Room rates start at 115 Euros per night for standard rooms for two, with junior suites at 205 Euros, and larger Anova Suites at 255 Euros. The Anova Suites are duplexes with a king bed and bath downstairs and three single beds and a full bath upstairs.
In the summer, the hotel offers a golf package including a two-night stay, three days of beginner golf lessons at a local course, and unlimited spa access with one massage for 389 Euros per person.
Montgenevre, located at nearly 1900 meters altitude, is the oldest ski resort in France and offers 400 km of ski trails and interconnected resorts. You can even ski from France to Italy. The village is known for its excellent Italian restaurants, including Le Capitaine on La Playa and The Kilt in the nearby Italian village of Claviere.
Montgenevre is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Turin Airport and 2 hours and 45 minutes from Milan Airport. It’s also accessible by TGV from Paris and Lyon. For a combined sea and ski vacation, consider flying into Nice or Marseille and spending a few days on the French Riviera.
