During my recent stay at Glasgow’s Blythswood Square hotel, I discovered Anne Sémonin, a Paris-based brand known for its luxurious spa and beauty products made from natural oils. I was so impressed by their soaps, shampoos, and body creams in the Blythswood suite that I couldn’t resist taking a small stash home with me.
So, you can imagine my excitement when I learned that Sémonin was opening a new spa at Cliveden House. Cliveden House, famous for its rich history and the scandalous Profumo Affair of the 1960s, has hosted many notable figures over the years, including Queen Victoria. The Profumo Affair, involving a young Christine Keeler and Secretary of State for War John Profumo, is especially infamous due to its connection with a Russian spy, making headlines across Britain.
Despite its colorful past, Cliveden House embraces its history with a good-natured attitude. I’m planning to visit the new Sémonin spa, which will offer their signature aromatic oils, creams, and exclusive treatments. I’ll be indulging in a stay that captures the scandalous glamour of the past, complete with crimson lipstick, Bryan Ferry music, martinis on the lawn, animal print pumps, and a Birken bag.
